Skepticism is the most powerful magic in the world. Able to nullify curses, and spells. Able to block mind reading, telekinesis, and telepathy. Able to scare away monsters, aliens, ghosts, demons, and even gods. All with a simple magical phrase: Prove it.
Beehive Skeptics Foundation is Utah's official skeptical nonprofit. We are official affiliates of the Center for Inquiry.

We follow the philosophy of "scientific skepticism". This means that we require evidence up to scientific standards for all of our beliefs. Skeptics love the phrase "prove it" and love it when the request is answered. You will often find us working as a kind of consumer protection, challenging practitioners of supernatural or alternative medicine products and services to test and prove their claims.
First, ouch... We skeptics see the harm that seemingly harmless beliefs can bring. Whether financial, mental, emotional, or physical harm, beliefs not rooted in critical thinking can do real damage.
Extreme examples exist in climate change denial, where flawed logic delays crucial action. Other examples occur in medicine, where individuals with terminal illnesses are promised miracle cures in exchange for their life savings, often turning down science-based treatments.
Many of us love the storytelling and artistry of the paranormal, but draw a line when a clearly distressed individual who claims to talk to ghosts or demons is validated rather than guided toward professional medical assistance. We are equipped to defend against financial scams, fraudulent claims, and make informed decisions.
We would love to talk to you! As skeptics, we are interested in the truth above all. We would be ecstatic to see undeniable, falsifiable proof of any supernatural claim.

Beehive Skeptics hosts multiple community outreach events designed to educate the public on critical thinking and science. This includes vendor booths at the Ogden and Salt Lake City Pride festivals, as well as events like PhenomeCon and Salt City ParaCon.
We host documentary screenings and create social media content that teaches critical thinking in fun, engaging ways.
